Oh, it warms the cockles, the ventricles and all the other pulsing, bloody parts of my little heart to see how the fever for recycled arts and crafts is just growing and growing. Today, thanks to our friends at Modish, I stumbled across the Etsy shop of the Recycling Artist aka Emily Kircher. Her stuff is adorable and it’s all made from recycled materials. She has hand-cut tiles made from old ceramic cups and plates, buttons made from old city maps, magnets and pouches crocheted from thrift store yarn, purses and rugs crochet from hand-cut recycled fabrics, and more. My absolute favorite is the bag pictured below. The appliqué comes from a thrifted Smokey the Bear bed sheet. How awesome is that? And, not one to horde knowledge, many descriptions of her products include step by step guides so that you can create your own. Recycle on, fair Artist!
